What is fluoride?
Fluoride compounds are salts that form when the element, fluorine, combines with minerals in soil or rocks.
Why is it important?
Fluoride is one of the most effective ways to prevent tooth decay and is extremely important for children. By treating our patients with fluoride, we can ensure kids get a great beginning to dental health which will improve overall health for the rest of their lives.
It is important children between the ages of 6 months and 16 years to be exposed to fluoride as this is when the primary and permanent teeth come in.
How is it administered to my child at Kidz Dental Care?
Your dental assistant will use either a fluoride tray or fluoride varnish application as an extra boost to strengthen and protect your child’s teeth.
